Houston, TX

I went to Houston for a training for my job. I really didn't get to see much of the city except for what was outside my hotel room window:

Henry and I went to Boise for a romantic Valentine’s weekend. It was also his birthday on Friday. We stayed here: http://www.themodernhotel.com/ which was a pretty cool place. It’s an old run-down Travelodge that’s been completely refurbished in a cool artsy way. It has a bar that has some really nice cocktails (the Cuban is to die for), and large rainshowers or Japanese soaking tubs in the rooms. The rooms with the Japanese tubs were all booked, but the shower was really nice. I spent much of my time in there! We saw a fun band called The Naughties, and Henry got a tattoo at Nobody’s Hero Tattoo. For Valentine’s dinner, we went to the first restaurant we ever went to together: http://www.happyfishsushi.com/.

I wanted to get a tattoo as well, but hadn’t quite figured out what I wanted, so I decided to wait. I’m contemplating a cartoon version of me and my dog, Rocky, but I want to be absolutely certain I want it before I get it done. I’ve also been trying to find a symbol for courage/strength/confidence, or one for hope, but haven’t found one that I really like.

Baby Update

I'll let the following photos speak for themselves:

Make Me Babies!

Somebody gave me this fun website to play with, and it's fairly amusing. Apparently, you can upload a picture of yourself and your significant other, and it will show you what your offspring might look like. I'm baby crazy, so I had to see how it would look. I uploaded my picture and Henry's picture, and here's what I got:

I don't really see any major resemblance, do you? I wondered if it would look more like me if I uploaded two different photos of myself. Here are the results:

What do you think? Does it look any more like me? I wasn't so sure, and I started to wonder if maybe they just have a database of baby photos and just randomly pick one for you. So, I decided to try one last experiment. What would it give me if I uploaded photos of my dog and my friends dog?

Well, it definitely doesn't look like a dog, but it does have some weird facial coloring, Rocky's reddish hair color, and do the ears look kinda pointy? I'm just not convinced. What do you think, is it a hoax, or do they really evaluate each partner's facial features and cleverly combine them into a baby photo like the website claims? My next experiments will be trying the same photos twice in a row and seeing if I get the same baby each time, and finding out what the product of Jonny Depp and myself will turn out like!

Stampin' Up Club Card Exchange

I'm a member of a Stampin' up Club at my work. We get together monthly and make crafty projects based around stamps/stamping and card making. We also do a card exchange monthly, where we each make 10 of the same card and exchange them, so we end up getting 10 different cards back. I made my cards with my new Cricut machine and the Paper Pups cartridge. I ended up with two slightly different styles because I ran out of light pink paper and pink raffia. I'd rather use up random scrap material than go buy a bunch of the same stuff so that my cards can be exactly the same. The club is a blast, by the way, and it has gotten me addicted to card making/scrapping and buying lots of stamps!
